Poverty can be defined as a lack of access to resources...
The Water Project Inc--a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation--puts it this way:
"Ending Poverty Begins With Clean Water. Poor health, hunger, and a lack of education are all symptoms of the true problem...no clean water. Together they lead to a cycle of poverty. You can help change that today."
As a Ripon College student, you have access to clean water. Chances are you don't think twice when you pour yourself a glass of water from the tap, make ice in your mini-freezer, open your mouth in the shower, brush your teeth, eat salad at the commons that has been rinsed in tap water, or mix up some gatorade after practice. Billions of people around the world are not so lucky.
